Raindance Mercier
Merci
Merci made her debut on the day she turned 6 months old and was Winners Bitch for a major! At her SECOND dog show at 6.5 mos old, Merci was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for ANOTHER major - 4 pts. In November at Worcester County Kennel Club, Merci did it again and was WB for her 3rd major. This girl already has 14 points with 3 majors from 6-9 month puppy class - just 1 more point to go!

Thanks so much.
I am a very lucky MOM to have such a lovely and talented daughter and best of all, Chelsea and I share the same passion....Now can you guess what that is?:D

LOL!
You are very lucky! My mother enjoyed the GSDs. Not quite at the same level my sister, brother and I did though. I think we would have liked it if she had.
She gave me my first puppies when I was just 14 yrs old with some very firm expectations.
They were to be cared for and trained with the same level of intensity I did with the horses.
They were and that passion has lasted a life time!

Chelsea is a luck girl! I bet you two have a grand time!

Congratulations!!! It is great that you and your daughter share the "dog habit". Many years ago, my frind and her daughter started in showing dogs. Back then the mom knew it all, today some 35 years later, the daughter is a very respected handler/breeder of top winning (#1 in the breed twice) dogs. I always wished I had a daughter to share my love of animals with

Huge Congratulations Susan and Chelsea! What a lovely record so far… you all must be on cloud nine.

Dogs are a passion best shared with a partner, be it spouse, child, sibling or other extended family member.

I was thinking that, back when we started DSNN, we had visions of developing it more in the direction of this venture - Dressage News Network (which I believe came along after DSNN). http://www.dressagenewsnetwork.com/

We envisioned having more dog show news, but that has proven to be rather problematic. Turns out that, beyond the dry facts of who won or lost (which is available on Info Dog and other sites), you can’t really report accurately on what goes on at any given show without stepping on someone’s toes. If a special is out of condition (and you report it) it pisses off the dog’s connections. If a handler screws up, if a judge misses a great one, if a judge dumps a hot special for a totally unknown “jewel”… it all can be interpreted and reported various ways. We all see things from our own unique perspective. There is no absolute, accurate, objective perspective on who won on any given day and why. The assessment of what went on and why is all a matter of subjective opinion. IF you own the dog that won, then the dog won because it was “deserving, and the judge did a great judge sorting through their entry.” IF you had an entry in the competition that didn’t win, “The judging was fixed and/or the judge is an incompetent boob.” IF you are simply observing and entry, “The judge was looking up the handler skirt the entire time.” In any event, you can’t report much without pissing off someone, so we tend to back off of actually reporting on dog shows.

SO, that leaves us with DSNN becoming more about being a supportive extended family, where we acknowledge the time, love and energy we all put into this sport. We pat each other on the back and say, “Well done.” We share the journey, the joys, the triumphs, and we try to comfort each other when things go wrong. In that respect, DSNN is becoming our extended "family.”
