We had an expeience with our Toy Fox terrier bitch a few years back. We went on our honeymoon to Jamaica and when we returned our Tabitha was very very ill. Long story short....She had extreme diarrhea. Within 12 hours she was near death. Luckily our vet answered his phone at 10:00 pm. She was infected by Clostridium perfringens. It was not so much the bacteria but the toxins this bacteria can produce. This bacteria can be cultured from 80% of all dogs poo. Again it is not so much the bacteria but the toxins it produces. There are many things that can create this to be a threat to any dog. We suspect our Tabitha got into some puppy food. I believe it was the large amount of fat that caused an ideal environment to produce the toxins. YOU HAVE TO ACT VERY FAST.
