I just received these pictures of Cooldanz's son. I think he is striking.

That expressive head/neck and elegance has to be coming through from Contucci. IF you look at Cabana Boy… and some of Contucci’s other progeny, I think the phenotype is stunning, a more elegant and elastic version of Caprimond. Contucci may prove to be the “Contango” of Hilltop farm. :) But you need a mare with a active hind leg... sort of like Lourdess... so there you go, True Ruler to Contango and Lourdess to Contucci and let SB do both breedings.
Oh he just thinks he's all that and a bag o' potato chips now doesn't he? What a hotshot! He looks like a wonderful mover, quite the little daisy cutter from the looks of things. I love how his attitude just shines through - why oh why must I always love the bad boys???
He's a fine animal.

There are some nice things about this boy... he is an interesting variaton of his sire Cooldanz (the first of two stallions we sold to England, who has been gelded and is living in Belgium as an event horse last I heard). We did not breed Cooldanz... he was purchased at 15 months. Arthur has always been able to focus intensely on whatever is his passion of the moment (a trait you either love or hate), back then it was the horses; he found Cooldanz on line, and even went to visit him long before I knew Cooldanz existed. Cooldanz's dam was out of our foundation mare Fancy Ruler. We ended up buying him when Arthur graduated from medical school (Cooldanz was sort of compensation for Arthur not getting a Rolex from his dad, i.e., we bought him a stallion). It was one of those great "business" decisions, made purely from the emotion of the moment. We spent about twice the amount we netted on Cooldanz when all was said and done.
Cooldanz's sire is a stallion named Contucci. http://www.hilltopfarminc.com/stallion_contucci.html
Contucci sired a wonderful talented young horse - Cabana Boy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rmfv0jSole0 who suffered a tragic freak pasture accident about a month ago and had to be put down. http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/cabana-boy-euthanized-after-turnout-accident
Contucci is a beautiful stallion, but he is often overlooked in favor of "The Flavor of the Month" stallions from Germany. I think he will prove to be valuable to Warmblood Sporthorse breeders in the USA. At his best, he adds leg, size and a lovely type, he has a great canter and the ability to collect (so did his sire Caprimond).
